I'll Stop Posting About Abortion

When people stop planting bombs at abortion clinics.

An explosive device "which could have caused substantial harm" was found Wednesday in the parking lot of an Austin, Texas, women's clinic where abortions are performed, authorities said.
What the fuck is wrong with these people?! Don't they know they've pretty much legally won already? Frankly its shit like this that makes people declare themselves pro-choice because no one wants to be on the side of American al-Qaida.

Wow. By your logic, then, people should have been pro-slavery because of John Brown's actions in Harper's Ferry. Every movement has it's nuts, Newscat. Those who hold life to be important, who are truly pro-life, believe that it is as important to respect the life of an abortionist as it is to respect the life of an 8 1/2 month old pre-born baby.

Please don't discontinue posting on abortion, either. Discussion is the only way one can evolve in their thinking--if we all promise to stop talking about abortion, how can we hope to fully develop our own beliefs?

Thanks Jim! I appreciate the encouragment even from someone who disagrees with my position. I guess I was thinking the "I'll stop posting" because I really didn't mean for this blog to turn into all-abortion-all-the-time but these last two weeks it's clearly on my mind heavily.

I'm mostly curious about why now plant a bomb at a clinic? And while yes, most people who hold anti-abortion views would never agree/endorse/condone the bomb planting, theat-making, doctor-shooting side of the anti-abortion movement the rhetoric used by some of the more mainstream anti-abortion groups clearly leads people into a path that "in order to save babies I have to kill adults." They are leading horses to water with their language and some of them will choose to drink the Kool-Aid.

I would argue that the "mainstream" anti-abortion groups use no such rhetoric, though perhaps you have specific examples in mind. Being strongly against something, and speaking in forceful terms, is not tantamount to encouraging violence by the kook fringe. If you believe abortion is wrong--is the taking of an innocent human life--than how can you NOT speak in forceful terms?
